Scholarship & Awards Gala – 2010


The  CMAA Northern CA Chapter’s annual gala - April 15, 2010 -  is created to raise funds for its scholarship program and present the year’s project awards and scholarships. The event will be held at the prestigious City Club of San Francisco, 155 Sansome, 10th floor, San Francisco, CA 94104. At the event, the annual Project Awards and the Scholarship Awards are presented, accompanied by fine food, good company and a silent auction. See the Events Page for registration.


2010 Construction Management Awards

The Construction Management Association of America, Northern California Chapter announces our 2010 Project Achievement Awards program. This program was created in accordance with our mission to promote excellence and professionalism in construction management. We hope to have another year of outstanding applicants and give recognition to those projects that demonstrate exceptional achievement in the practice of construction management. In addition to the project awards we are introducing a Person of the Year Award for 2010. This award is established to recognize the northern California person who most positively influenced the Construction industry in the area. 

Project Award Categories and Sizes: This year we are pleased to announce the following categories for entry:

  • BUILDING, LESS THAN $20 MILLION
  • BUILDING, GREATER THAN $20 MILLION
  • INFRASTRUCTURE, LESS THAN $20 MILLION
  • INFRASTRUCTURE, GREATER THAN $20 MILLION
  • INNOVATIVE USE OF BIM TECHNOLOGY
  • SUSTAINABLE OR “GREEN” CONSTRUCTION

*Honorable Mention Awards may also be given.

Person of the Year Award Criteria: The person of the year award is open to members and non members. The sole criteria are positive influence on the construction industry in northern California.  Please include a brief resume along with a narrative of how your candidate influenced the construction industry in northern California in the 2009 calendar year.    

Deadline for entry nomination package: March 1st, 2010 at 5pm.

2010 CMAA Nor Cal Scholarships Awards

The 2010 CMAA Nor Cal Scholarship awards and plaques will be presented at the Awards Dinner at the City Club, San Francisco by Scholarships Co-Director’s Jennifer Davlin and  Sam McClellan.

CMAA of Northern California created this annual scholarship program in 2005 with the objective of support to the future construction managers of this geographical area.

Ten awards totaling $15,000 go to the top students from five competing northern California colleges with CM programs, including U.C. Berkeley, Stanford, Cal State Chico, Cal State Sacramento and San Jose State.

The awards are five each for $2,000 and five each for $1000. The application period is open from February 2010 to March 12, 2010. The application is available at: www.cmaanorcal.org/scholarships.html.

Northern California Chapter CMAA announces a new, no-cost service to local CMAA firms and local CM Students - a free exchange of information provided by Chapter member firms and CM students from Chico State, San Jose State, UC Berkeley, Stanford, and CSU, Sacramento. The purpose is to facilitate communications between CMAA member firms and CM students regarding potential employment. Right now, the only data on local CM firms is their listing on the Chapter web site. This is your chance to list your firm interests with internships and employment. As a member firm, you can contact any student listed to ask about their interest  in internships or employment.
