Owners Committee

This committee shall develop and implement programs and informational presentations intended to aid public or private entities that are consistently engaged in the activity of constructing capital improvements and facilities for itself, referred to as Owners, to understand construction management principles and practice, CMAA, and the value of the Certified
Construction Manager designation. 

Education Committee (Bay Area)

The Education Committee organizes our continuing education opportunities for the Chapter’s membership. The education committee shall be responsible for evaluating and creating educational programs that best support our membership and shall look for unique educational events to attract owner’s organizations to the chapter.

Scholarship / Student Chapter Committee

The Scholarship and Student Chapter Committee works with local universities to promote student chapter participation at the university level.  We want CMAA and the Chapter to have a presence at the respective university student functions, encourages student membership in the Chapter and CMAA, assists students in becoming active members of CMAA, and administers the chapter’s scholarship and internship initiatives.

Operations Committee

The Operations Chair position shall develop a committee of volunteers to support the other committees in the execution of their strategic initiative and goals. This chair position and committee shall serve as a central point of support and coordination of all the active committee and their events.

CCM & Professional Development Committee

The CCM Committee Chair oversees the activities of the CCM Committee and assures that the activities of the committee are consistent with the direction of the Board of Directors and the policies and directives of the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI). The CCM Committee Chair shall liaise with the CMCI representative at the national office. The CCM Committee Chair will develop and implement programs, informational presentations, and other aids to promote CCM among the construction owners of the region and to assist and mentor members pursuing the CCM certification. 

CODE Committee

The Code Committee works to help develop and provide resources to Small, Local, and Disadvantaged Businesses with larger firms in the Construction Management Industry. The CODE Committee stands for Creating Opportunities for Diversity and Equality for Small, Local, and Disadvantaged business within the Construction Management industry at-large.

Communications Committee

Chair: Cameron Crockett - Placement Club

The Communications Committee is responsible for developing, producing and distributing CMAA program, industry and leadership information to appropriate industry groups and publications as approved by the Board of Directors.  They also have the responsibility of being the editor and publisher of social media outlets, and provides updates of the Chapter’s business and events to Chapter members and to CMAA National.  They shall solicits content for the social media outlets from members and from the various committee chairs.

Project Awards Committee

The Project Achievement Awards Committee is composed of owners and professional construction managers. In judging the annual project award entries, the Committee will consider outcomes, overall management, safety, quality management, cost management, schedule management, complexity, innovation and creativity, and customer satisfaction as the basis for the award.

Membership Committee

Chair: Mary Toutounchi, PE - Hill International

The Membership Committee is responsible for coordinating membership recruitment; follows up with prospective members; and mails membership applications and information as requested.  They shall provide a New Member update and summary to the Board of Directors, the Chapter and CMAA.  We look to our Membership Committee to provide creative approaches to increase our membership rolls and to be the conduit for membership feedback.

Emerging Professional Committee

The Emerging Professional Committee is responsible for coordinating the chapter's project tours, networking, mentoring, CMIT, and other activities related to early career professionals.  It is our goal to promote emerging professional members with less than ten years of industry experience, and add new members to the CMAA Northern California Chapter.

Legal Committee

The Legal & Legislative Chair shall assist the President in obtaining legal advice on matters pertaining to the activities of the Board of Directors and the Chapter. The Legal & Legislative Chair oversees the Legal & Legislative Committee(s). This committee(s) shall issue periodic bulletins informing the membership of legal and legislative issues pertinent to the practice of professional program, project and construction management.
