The worldwide building sector accounts for about 40% of energy-related carbon emissions and buildings remain a major sector.   Owner agencies and jurisdictions are confronting climate change and recognizing that building decarbonization is an important component of their capital improvement program efforts including addressing new standards for energy usage and how long-standing initiatives in energy efficiency are being expanded to building decarbonization.  Our distinguished panel will present and discuss the following topics that address major sustainability efforts underway:

  • Provide an overview of changes in the Energy Code, Air Quality Regulations, and California Public Utilities Commission rules that will drive decarbonization.
  • Present the major changes to non-residential buildings including new solar requirements and battery storage.
  • Discuss the overall strategies for electrification around the State, upcoming changes, and how they impact building design from small non-residential buildings to the campus scale.
  • Integrated Design Management Approach to Decarbonization & Electrification

Attend this information session and learn how the design and construction industry will need to shift to incorporate new standards that are addressing carbon neutrality.
