About The Event

The CMAA NorCal Board of Directors is inviting Owner/Agencies to get more involved in the coming year and we invite you to meet the incoming President, Carla Collins Signet Testing Labs, and current Owner’s Chair, Jumoke Akin-Taylor SF DPW, and Vice President Raaj Patel Dept. General Services. 

We believe there is a lot to be learned and gained from a creative collaborative platform with Industry practioners/ expertise, which could prove to be a valuable tool in helping Owners refine and improve their strategies and processes for even better project outcomes.

The CMAA Owners Committee provides forums, events, and trainings in which an environment of collaboration and forward thinking ideas amongst industry owner construction professionals can take place to help facilitate delivery of better quality and added value to construction projects. We also include panel discussions, case studies and talk about the latest project delivery methods. See below for ways to get involved (*shall be a member with CMAA).

We will also be donating 5 - free CMAA 2020 Virtual Conference registrations during the Forum.

We are looking for ideas and volunteers: 

Owner’s Chair * (2 yr term- must be representative of an Owner/Agency organization):

The Owners Committee Chair oversees the activities of the Owners Committee. Owners Chair shall

also serve as a liaison to owner agencies to encourage their participation in community engagement

activities being sponsored by the Chapter. Attend all Board of Directors meetings. Term starts mid-

October 2020.

Owner’s Committee * (1 year term):

This committee shall develop and implement programs and informational presentations intended to

aid public or private entities that are consistently engaged in the activity of constructing capital

improvements and facilities for itself, referred to as Owners, to understand construction management

principles and practice, CMAA, and the value of the Certified Construction Manager designation.

Attend all committee meetings.

Owners Roundtable Series (exclusive to Owners - no consultants/contractors):

The purpose of this quarterly Think Tank series is to serve as a collaborative platform for Owners to

exchange information and share knowledge on best practices and lessons learned; creating

opportunity for Owners to gain insights on different methodologies and processes other Owners

have or are utilizing to successfully manage and deliver projects without consultants making pitches.

No cost to Owners.
