About The Event

TOUR SPEAKER:

Sharla Sullivan, Outreach & Partnerships Manager, Webcor

Site Tour Description:

The Southeast Treatment Plant, built in 1952, is San Francisco’s largest wastewater facility and handles 80% of the city’s sewage and stormwater. The Biosolids Digester Facilities Project will replace aging infrastructure with modern, efficient systems that improve odor control, biosolids quality, and biogas utilization. These upgrades will also enhance the facility’s appearance and relocate digesters farther from nearby homes. The project includes extensive improvements across the plant, transforming it into a state-of-the-art resource recovery facility that supports environmental sustainability and long-term operational reliability.
