About The Event

Construction-Manager-In-Training (CMIT) Certification Workshop

Why should I get my CMIT?

The CMIT is the first step on the road to becoming a Certified Construction Manager. Meant for early career professionals, it is a program that educates you on construction management principles, connects you to other CMITs and CCMs via mentorship programs and is beneficial for CMs, architects, engineers and contractors alike.

How does this workshop work?

A few weeks before the workshop, communication will be sent out regarding registration for the CMAA CMIT program and exam, and the workshop session will entail a prep and test environment. Meant to be a half-day, mid-week session, registered CMITs will be at your disposal to guide you through the process. Refreshments and snacks will be served, as this is intended to last a minimum of 3-4 hours, so please plan accordingly with your colleagues.

What am I getting myself into?

Don't worry! Preparing and obtaining your CMIT is not as difficult as it looks! If you'd like to learn more, please follow the link below to CMAA's CMIT website, where you can find the CMIT handbook (integral to the exam), associated registration & test fees, and the application. A registration will be needed, so please take the time to register and read the details prior to the workshop. https://www.cmaanet.org/CMIT

Please note the following prerequisites stated by CMCI (administering certification):

Individuals must meet at least one (1) of the following qualifications to be eligible for the CMIT program:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management

• 75 credit hours toward a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management program

• Associate’s degree or certificate in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management

• Four (4) years of general design/construction experience

Where is the workshop located?

Just a couple of blocks from Montgomery St BART station in downtown SF:

100 Montgomery St. #300

San Francisco, CA, 94104
