Seminar Overview:
This interactive and practical seminar will teach you the fundamentals of construction contract law from a claim’s perspective. Learn how to better understand and evaluate the risks associated with the terms and condition and how to transfer risk to the appropriate party by equitable risk allocation in the contract documents. Obtain valuable insight into how to avoid engineering and construction claims through effective contracting and contract administration. Contract specialists will cover the latest development in California’s Public Records Act (PRA) requests, responses and litigation, including what can be subpoenaed to hurt you in a court of law. Understand the importance of communication in construction and what to include and not include in documents, and avoid e-mail and multi-person memo pitfalls.
